I am the Associate Head (Students) for the School of Law and serve as the Course Leader and Admissions Tutor for Undergraduate Law Programmes at Portsmouth Law School. Additionally, I am a Principal Teaching Fellow responsible for coordinating and teaching a variety of modules across undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
My PhD focuses on children's social care law and its connection with child protection and international human rights law.
Research Interests
My research interests are broadly related to child and family law, with a specific focus on child protection and children's social care law. I aim to understand how the legal framework in the United Kingdom compares to the international human rights obligations for protecting children from harm. Particularly, I am interested in the substantive obligations the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child places on states.
Teaching Responsibilities
My teaching responsibilities span across both undergraduate and postgraduate modules. I have experience teaching:
- Child and Family Law
- International Family Law
- Equality Law
- European Union Law
- Public Law
- Contract Law
- Introduction to Law
- Legal Writing and Research Skills
- Social Care Law
I am also an experienced supervisor for extended research projects, including dissertations.
