Drawing on strengths from across the University of Portsmouth, AEGIS builds research capacity internally across career levels, and externally with partners. This aim is aided by existing successful research collaborations.

AEGIS focuses on mentoring, sharing knowledge and contacts, data gathering (including supporting non-academic partners in building momentum for change) and reinforcing reciprocal relationships.

Combating inequality remains a global concern. UoP academics have been contributing to the cause for years. AEGIS provides a greater internal and external focus on this work to strengthen international partnerships and develop new, collaborative projects.
