Panos is the Co-Director of AEGIS and an Associate Professor in Equality and Human Rights Law at the University of Portsmouth. He is the joint Associate Head – Research and Innovation at the Law School, and the former Director of Postgraduate Research.

He holds degrees in Law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), University College London (UCL), and the London School of Economics (LSE). He has published in both English and Greek, including edited volumes on European consensus ("Building Consensus on European Consensus: Judicial Interpretation of Human Rights in Europe and Beyond", CUP, 2019) and on human dignity and democracy in Europe ("Human Dignity and Democracy in Europe: Synergies, Tensions and Crises", Edward Elgar, 2022).

Panos is a Co-Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Discrimination and the Law, a member of the Board of Advisors of the Berkeley Center of Comparative Equality and Anti-Discrimination Law, and a co-Investigator in the RE-WIRING project (Realising Girls’ and Women’s Inclusion, Representation and Empowerment), funded under the European Commission’s Horizon Europe programme.
